Birthday cake/brownies

Birthday brownie's
Jeff requested to have homemade low fat brownies for his birthday instead of cake. So that's what I made, I bought a basic brownie mix and substituted applesauce instead of oil to make it healthier. You can do this in any baking recipe, you just need something in a liquid form in the batter to replace the oil, so applesauce is perfect. They were so good and extra most.

  1. Wow, I didn't know that about the applesauce. I thought it had to be in the recipe. Thanks for the tip.

  2. You'd be surprised how much you can alter a recipe and it will still turn out good. With the applesauce use just a tad bit less so it doesn't make it to wet. And if you want to substitute white flour for whole wheat flour, use pastry whole wheat flour because it's lighter and maybe even mix 2/3 whole wheat and 1/3 white flou to also help keep the dough lighter. Theirs a lot of possibilities.
